Finally migrating all my games to SSDs from spinners

Coax can carry more bandwidth than that and CAT5e sure as hell can. I've never seen a house wired with older standards than that and still have actual network jacks.

Finally migrating all my games to SSDs from spinners

I used to run insane amounts of storage relative to what most machines would have at a given time. I have a fast internet connection and have had Gigabit internet for years. At present, I run about 3TB of SSD storage and just delete games when I'm not using them and redownload them when I want...

Weird stuff with Gigabyte z590 Aorus Ultra

The 11900K doesn't use enough power to need the second 8 pin cable or 4 pin depending on the motherboard. Having a 9 year old PSU could indeed be a problem though. You can also run HWInfo64 and see how much power everything is pulling. I believe GPU-Z will do this too. Whatever your PSU is...

What Z690 board are you eyeing?

Well, they don't necessarily do anything more for you overclocking wise given that most chips now a days don't really gain much from it. However, nicer boards have 10GbE LAN, nicer audio, etc. that some of us like. Higher end boards are more about features than performance these days. Although...

What Z690 board are you eyeing?

I like nice things? A Ferrari is overpriced compared to a Mustang GT but there is no contest when it comes to figuring out which one is nicer. That being said, I also review these things for a living. I'm fully aware of how these boards differ across the product stack. As it happens, I went with...

What Z690 board are you eyeing?

Now that I have a 12900K, I'm eyeing the GIGABYTE Z690 Aorus Waterforce Xtreme and the ASUS Maximus Z690 Extreme Glacial. I will probably go with one of the non-waterblocked versions, but those are tempting. We'll see though.

Cowboy Beebop live action at Netflix!

Well, casting an older actor to play Vicious makes sense in light of the fact that Spike is being played by an older actor. Now, I would argue that they should have cast someone in their early 30's at the oldest. In that regard, it's a fair criticism.

Cowboy Beebop live action at Netflix!

It's almost as if the director tells the actor to ham it up with his best stereotypical 1990's bad guy impression. He sounds like he's trying to copy Eric Roberts as the Master in the 1990's Doctor Who movie or Terry Silver in Karate Kid III.

Cowboy Beebop live action at Netflix!

I don't think it's entirely the actor's fault. For one thing, I'm not a casting director so I couldn't tell you. However, the line delivery, the dialog itself, and almost everything about his scenes are awful. It's the same with Julia.

Any scenes with Vicious and or Julia are pure cringe.

    Aliens: Fireteam Elite

The Division 1/2 have issues beyond just being third person. But the reason why you see so many third person games these days is it helps sell cosmetics. When you can see your character, you get more invested the way it looks.

    Aliens: Fireteam Elite

I've played this game quite a bit. (74 hours as of right now) The problem is, there isn't a whole lot to do in it. It needs more content badly. The basic gameplay is fun, but you can collect all the rewards and see all there is to see in a short period of time. It's also best played with friends.

    MSI Godlike X570 "VGA Error"

You did change something. Environment variables. Humidity and temperature do factor in to these things. However, its difficult to test for when the destinations are 100's of miles (or more) apart. That said, I'd make sure that your power is good by either using a power conditioner or making sure...

Cowboy Beebop live action at Netflix!

It's a terrible argument. They can't acknowledge the fact that there are other reasons to hate changes to a beloved IP or franchise other than you are an incel/ist/phobe or whatever. They can't accept that people hate these changes and the fact that a lot of this stuff is horribly written, badly...

    MSI Godlike X570 "VGA Error"

The MSI MEG X570 GODLIKE can handle the Ryzen 9 5950X. It's literally capable of handling any AMD socket AM4 CPU and has VRM's that are far more powerful than the 5950X would ever need. These used to have a CPU error that would come up on occasion that was due to an issue with one of the BIOS...

Cowboy Beebop live action at Netflix!

I see it very differently. That being said, the whole "unrequited love bit" is debatable at best. That could certainly be taken out as its arguable that it was ever there to begin with. Her back story is as a con artist, which isn't evident at all until episode 7. The character is rather...

Something flickered- Metro Exodus - Rtx 3090

Some games do that. Especially with certain renderers. Ghost Recon Breakpoint's white thermal vision for the Pathfinder class flickers quite badly under Vulkan but not DirectX. Cyberpunk 2077 is prone to many graphical glitches and issues. Flickering doesn't necessarily mean your video card is...

EVGA Supernova P5 1000? Any thoughts before I pull the trigger?

EVGA uses a lot of different OEMs at once. Some models are Seasonic, others might be HEC group or whatever. This one is HEC group as an example.

EVGA Supernova P5 1000? Any thoughts before I pull the trigger?

I am not sure on the EVGA unit, but I'd caution against going with the higher end Corsair units right now. I've killed a couple of them over the last year or so. Corsair is a mixed bag on PSU's as they use a variety of OEM's to produce them.

How do people compare game benchmarks perfectly?

As a reviewer, I benchmark all kinds of shit all the time. However, I normally just max out my games on my personal system and if they run like crap, I figure out what setting I can dial back with the most performance impact, but the least visual downgrade. If I can upgrade my hardware, I will.

How do people compare game benchmarks perfectly?

Manual benchmarking can be done by learning the route. I benchmark Cyberpunk 2077 all the time using the same route. When using this method, you will learn the route. You will almost certainly run it time and time again until you can repeat it consistently. The thing is, while there are...

    Terminator: Resistance

Most of the problems I've heard are with game balance once you get things like the phased plasma rifle fully upgraded. It makes the game stupid easy. However, early on you can't hurt a T-800 as you have nothing that can penetrate their armor. Early on, you have to use stealth to avoid...

You misunderstand, the issues with these systems aren't a result of bugs. These are a result of the systems being unfinished.
