5a isn’t available thru brick and mortar retailers so the base 6 will have to be the go to for anyone like me that needs a replacement phone that day.
I opted to scour Craigslist for whatever new under $300 thing I could get thru tmw on today.
I'll install android 12 on my 3a XL tmw and see how that goes.
I'm ok slumming with the phone poors bc my media consumption happens on my iPad.
I don't need my entire mobile experience to be phone centric
My use case still leans towards a desktop is a build bot or remote worker desktop target.
Still waiting to see workstation class ryzen laptops with multi name drives, higher ram density, gpu, cooling system that'll maintain long run workloads without excessive throttling
My brief HTC One ownership makes me wary of heat related component failure.
I'll just watch reports from early owners.
Not in a rush to pay off the last 4 months of our 3a XLs
I did turn off the $/5 month damage coverage bc at this pt, whatever.
Features have hardware impact on performance.
Getting regular monthly OS updates is a major quality of life enhancement.
There’s a reason why a lot of us own pixels, many were full cycle Nexus owners.
Getting stuck for months or longer with a bad update leaves a bad taste in the mouth.
My ex had either a bad anker cable or charging block fry the charging module on her pixel xl.
Bubbled face, melted component, etc.
I became a real stickler about not buying whatever cheapest charging combo for her to leave a copy everywhere she went after I had it fixed.
I'm on FI, so I got the 3 diff subscription option scheme today.
I guess I could wrap up the year of security only updates and roll with my 3a until pixel 6a launches this time next year.
Let's see if my experience degrades after OD updates halt or not like all my other Nexus and Pixel phones.
I've had the same thought.
I respect the idea of someone making $ scalping a ticket more than scalping a gpu.
3090 owners are starting to up their asking $ to match or exceed 3080ti.
At this point I'm going to bow out until the market contracts.
I want to buy at the bottom for a non essential workflow like gaming, not buy a used car worth of value to play games on a pc.
That was my immediate reaction.
OP is blasting comments as fast as they can but the overarching FU sentiment is there.
I can only imagine the eBay message reporting queue is full of sunshine, puppies, and prayers.
You'd think someone would be learning how WAFs work, add rulesets to augment anti-botting strategies, etc.
E-commerce all of the sudden has some learning moments for people that want to dip a toe into more lucrative work.
I'm thinking longevity isn't so much a design bullet pt in light of current environment.
Would you want 30x0 mined on gpus living 3+ years at screwed up miner dump used prices pulling down the next few gens MSRP?
The gpus were designed for a narrow use case.
Why waste resources supporting...
Frame pacing improvements on a BR isn’t something anyone should throw $ at.
Various BRs I play have had noticeable problem areas in map updates that either tanked FPS, or lagged frame pacing.
Various fixes would help until the next major map update started the FPS circus all over again.
