Hi. My new system has two USB 3.x ports and one USB 2.0 port on the front. The USB 2.0 port works but both the 3.x ports will light up my mouse and keyboard but will not work.
They seem to provide power but not function.
You may already have an idea what to do.
I'll add this info in case it helps. The system arrived with a damaged case (front and bottom) so it must have taken an impact during shipping.
This case: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07L5261Q6?tag=pcbuilder00-20
I ordered it with Win 10 Pro but it arrived with Win 11 Pro so I did a clean install of Win 10 Pro.
The Motherboard is ASUS Prime TRX40-Pro S ATX w/ RGB
Any help is greatly appreciated as I need my front ports to work. All rear 3.x ports do work.
Thank you

Have you tried contacting Raidmax? It's under warranty, don't mention the shipping damage, and they should just mail you a new board/cable setup to replace the old one.

Also worth checking in Device Manager to make sure that the ports don't need special drivers (they shouldn't).

Thank you. The case is actually Cyberpower (identical to the Raidmax link I shared) but I couldn't find a link to the Cyberpower version. Right it is under warranty and I've emailed CyberpowerPC but haven't gotten response yet. It was a full system I ordered. Wasn't sure what to try on my own. I'll check device manager and report back.

Cyberpower mailed me replacment piece for the case but that was before I knew the ports had a problem.
Keyboard also came with pieces rattling inside and some keys not working but they mailed me a replacement.

Pull the USB3 cable out of the motherboard header and check for bent pins. They're pretty easy to bend on usb3 headers. When putting the cable back in, be gentle and make sure all the pins are going in.

ive seen that too. you can usually straighten them with a mech. pencil, like a cpu pin.

Thank you everyone. I removed and re-inserted the USB header cable from the motherboard. Pins looked straight. The keyboard and mouse both now work ( yay! ) but portable USB drives are inconsistant, meaning if I wiggle it just a tiny bit it might connect and work or it might disconnect from Windows 10 Pro.
I looked inside the front case where the USB ports are connected at the panal and they look to be solidly connected

The pins get oxidized and cause connection issues I'd recommend hosing down the ports with Deoxit Gold G5 or some other good non-conductive contact cleaner. Same goes for flash drives, they get oxidized pins as well, and junk stuck in them from being in your pocket.
