Every desirable video card model is now OOS tonight. Unreal.

Everything from the 1660 super, to the 5900xt, to the 2070 super, 3070, 3080, 3090....

All gone.

Any that are showing a few in stock are 3rd party stores selling 40% to 100% over MSRP.

2060 cards are going for $500... ?!?

So, there's not enough of ANYTHING for ANYONE now? It's just, "Sorry everyone, covid year and all, no holiday inventory of anything... see you next year."

Wow.

Yep, I've looked at pricing on the older cards and it reminds me when the mining boom was consuming everything in sight. Yet there is no significant mining craze at this time. . .

Same here in the UK. Used 5700xts and 1080 tis are going for $500/£400. In 25+ years of following PC and gaming hardware I've never seen anything like this.

Very glad I got my 3080 already and didn't sell my laptop.

It’s not just video cards.... I decided to finally build a new system and finding anything is tough... all the decent motherboards are OOS, CPUs, RAM. I’ve never seen it like this before. Stores are running out of shit to sell.

Agreed. Looking at my Amazon cart, about half of the 25 items in there are out of stock.

I've searched high and low for a new video card and all I've found are imprints in the dust of where cards should be. I decided not to waste anymore time trying to look. I figure after the holidays and everything settles down, they'll replenish the stock.

Glad I'm still holding on to my 1070.

You can find some 5700xts for under $400. Still a very solid 1080ti/2070 super class performer.

While availability of hardware is certainly a drag right now, one silver lining is that if you still have your old system, as I'd imagine most of us here do, now is a great time to pick up some new games and play those. Games on Steam never go out of stock.

I'm presently waiting on parts for my project car that for some reason "shipped" a week ago, but haven't moved at all, and today feels like a pretty good day to actually play some of the games I keep all these computers around for.

We are about to experience the darkest times of our lives.
Good god can we tone it down a bit? We have to wait to buy cards to play our games. Hardly the end of the world. Anyone who actually could benefit from these cards for work certainly has a previous gen one already so they’re not in shambles. I know we’re an enthusiast forum but let’s keep some perspective, people.

Microcenter was nuts. Just about everything except the very lowest end nVidia cards was gone after Black Friday. There were some more AMD cards left, but mostly stuff like 580s. There were still a couple 5700xt's hidden in a corner though. I guess people didn't notice the difference between AIB and OEM ones.

I've been watching my local Microcenter and it's baaaaad. I hope you want a 5600XT or 5700XT, because that's all they've got that'll game. Plenty of GT 710 cards if you're dead set on Nvidia lol

edit to add: the used market is borked too. I wanted a cheap deal on an ok card recently for a dumpstered system, usually I can hop on Craigslist and have something in-hand same or next day but it took a week to find something good locally. It looks to have improved in the past week, so maybe upgraders' cards are trickling down.

For AMD, 5600 XTs are still under $300 and readily available. 5700 and XT's, the ones that are available are all overpriced. I mean way overpriced. Maybe first time a previous generation is completely sold out except for a few leftovers at ridiculous pricing.

I bought my 2080Ti used back in April for a decent price and I thought that maybe it was a bad move since the new cards were close but with all the ridiculousness going on right now in the GPU market I don't feel bad for going for it at the time. I still would like a 3080 or 6800XT but if I don't get one my 2080Ti will still do just fine at 4K.

Built my brother and niece rigs for Christmas. I was able to get him a used 1070, $180, and she is getting an old R9 380 I had sitting in a closet. Not ideal, but as you pointed out getting anything is difficult much less at a reasonable price.

LOL! You took that seriously...?!

I settled on a 5700xt :(
I hate settling, was ready to drop on a 3070/3080 but nope couldn't land one. So then I tried for a 6800/6800xt and nothing. So I kept looking just hoping for anything, even last gen, and noticed what the OP noticed. Even 1000 series cards were being marked way up. WTH is going on. Then I found the 5700xt for about $400 after tax and shipping. Best deal I was able to find.

I paid 710 after tax for my 2080 super and sold it yesterday for 630 lol I’ve never used a video card for an entire year and lost that little

Similarly, I'd bought a 2080 Super last June for £600, then sold it this June for £560. The only time I did better was at the height of the crypto madness and sold a Vega 56 for as much as I'd bought it.

That said, I'd much rather go back to the days when you could actually find and pay for new cards and sell old ones at a loss.

Send me that dudes contact info. I want to try to get rid of some junk at near new prices.

If you are thinking about an RX 570, there are some used on Ebay which are "buy it now" under $100. and lots used under $100 auctions, with an option to make an offer.
