MY strategy is to hope and pray that my ancient 660 Ti keeps working for another year. Otherwise, I have to buy the least expensive card I get get off Ebay or Craigslist. And probably a new cable for my 2020 model Dell display.

I just looked at Ebay for 3060 Ti cards and it's obvious the scalpers rule there. So I've had to think how I'm going to cope before prices come down to something normal, whatever that means. And based on news reports, I don't expect to get that 3060 Ti until sometime in 2022. What's your...

So for the 256 or 192 bit bus chips, is the physical die size the same or smaller? If the same, how is the chip "cut down?"

Excuse the noob question. What is a "big" chip? An "uncut" chip? I know what is the bus and cores.

So while all this discussion is interesting, we have no way of knowing when we can actually buy one of these models (assuming that's what you want).

I read somewhere that the average gas-powered car has about 30,000 parts. Automotive supply chains have "Tier 1," "Tier 2," etc. suppliers and who knows how many chips are single-sourced for small factories without much buying power (or profit margin).

But they aren't available in the US. :(
