That has to do with the processor and firmware, not the HDMI inputs. I'm not doubting Sony's ability to code fantastic image processing in their televisions, but that is no excuse for the low number of HDMI inputs, which they say is a "cost"...

And yet LG manages to put at least four HDMI 2.1 inputs on their OLED TVs without doubling the cost.

If the intent is for streaming then surely 100 Mbps is plenty? What am I missing here? Surely firmware downloads aren't THAT large?

MacOS is a shit show as well, just in a different way. Everything in MacOS is fine, if all you want to do is do things "the Apple Way" and not stray from the happy path at all ever. Though the biggest problem with MacOS is not the software...
