    5800X3D Desktop Replacement

The fighting game community is slowly but surely adopting 360hz monitors due to PC being the main platform now. It's not rare to have two players pressing a button at the same time, and the player with the least input delay wins, and it's been proven than the higher the refresh rate, the lower...

    5800X3D Desktop Replacement

You're talking to a wall, they won't accept that more FPS means less input lag and better performances.

    5800X3D Desktop Replacement

It does because there are jumps that require you to have more, way more FPS than 100. CoD had a notorious one. CSGO too. 1 frame = 16ms~. So more like around 50ms, which is considered as a bad ping for today's standard. Players can feel a 1 frame difference in fighting games, not because they...

    5800X3D Desktop Replacement

Many commands weren't allowed in CS 1.x because it could give you an unfair advantage. You could disable those server-side, so it's never a problem. As for more FPS = supposedly unneeded, there is no rule about that. In Quake Champions 250 FPS might give you better results than 280 FPS, because...

New build/case with (very) old case fans, will it be enough?

GN didn't remove the top cover in their test, they only tried the 3 different positions. I get what you're saying, don't get me wrong, I will first try without removing the top cover to see how it goes, but I've read benchmarks with a 20°C gain when it's completely removed. To be quite honest...

New build/case with (very) old case fans, will it be enough?

All the reviews I've seen or read expressly said that the top cover should be removed. The gain is around 15-20°C. And yeah, the 1650 Super is indeed super loud while gaming, I've been told to check MSI Afterburner to create a curve to make it less noisy in some situations.

New build/case with (very) old case fans, will it be enough?

I see, I wouldn't have thought about not putting a single fan on top. By the way, I should mention that I won't use the hard drive cages, since it's possible to place two SSDs behind the motherboard. I will also remove the top cover and put a dust filter instead.

New build/case with (very) old case fans, will it be enough?

I will do that then, thanks. I kind of knew it and someone on Overclock.net told me the same thing. I just bought the MSI MPG A650GF - 650W 80+ Gold. I'm aware that 650W is overkill, but it's a special offer for €80. Plus I might upgrade the GPU in the future, so why not. That means you'd only...

New build/case with (very) old case fans, will it be enough?

I just realized that I actually bought the High Speed version of the Pure Wings 3, which means it's a 3-pin connector. Doesn't seem to make a difference if I understood correctly what you said. As for the manual, it doesn't provide more than what's in the picture below:

New build/case with (very) old case fans, will it be enough?

I don't really mind controlling the fans manually, that's already what I'm doing with my current case, so nothing new. I'm more concerned about not being able to plug them without using a splitter than how I would control them.

New build/case with (very) old case fans, will it be enough?

Let's assume I won't be able to plug them without using a splitter, if I were to buy new fans, that means I should by ones that have 4-pin connectors, right?

New build/case with (very) old case fans, will it be enough?

What I found regarding the fans: I'm kind of lost to be quite honest, will I able able to plug them? The Pure Wings 3 is PWM (4-pins), the Pure Wings 2 is 3-pins. Also, I've been told that my PSU is super bad and should be replaced asap, any thoughts about that?

New build/case with (very) old case fans, will it be enough?

Hello, so I've got all the new parts for a futur build (listed in the spoiler below), and I was wondering if those old Zalman fans would be enough? I will use it for music production and some video games, nothing too demanding though. Here is the config for more details: - The case will be a...

    Best all-around gaming/music headphones for $150?

Because they're cheap and robust, but objectivement speaking, they have a really weird FR. For monitoring it's fine, for gaming not so much. People buy what they've been told to buy.

    Best all-around gaming/music headphones for $150?

HD 598 if you can find those. Most confortable headphones ever with a large soundstage, which is very valuable for FPS games. There is a version of the Fidelio X2HR that comes with a microphone mode. They are super versatile overall and very hard to beat for the price.
