I'm pretty sure upgrading my network just enabled me to spend more time messing with my network :p Still gotta do more tuning to get my iperf scores up.
The ROI calculation I use for a situation like this is time. If you're literally going to save half of your time with 2.5Gb vs 1Gb speeds, then it's just a matter of how much time and the dollar/other value of that time with that time applied...
This is always a concern with stuff like this and the STH review even talks about it.
But for some people, price is king or the risk is acceptable so I posted it as a deal because it is if you don't have concerns.
I do like to think STH had some decent credibility, but the amount of cheap "back of a truck" Chinese products they push these days, some with known chipset bugs or other faults (why the items in said product were discontinued) they do not even...
Stole this from the STH forum even though I'm not a fan of no-name chinese switches:

Ultra cool listing where the seller goes into the history of the card and how it came into his possession. I'm actually trying to print it to a PDF because even as a document, this is really cool.
Agreed. Have owned 5x VR headsets, all fun for about 1-2 months, then collect dust. Even with wireless, or single wired headsets now its just too much of an annoyance for no real benefit other than a few minutes of "Oh this is cool". Still no...
I've said this out loud and I'm immediately an old crotchety boomer for saying it. VR is like 3d movies. Anytime you need to put something on your face to enjoy it the appeal will diminish quickly.
I'm so effing tired of people always...
I've said it above and I'll say it here, this device is a competitor to the Hololense 2, this is not a consumer product.
Consumers who purchased the Vision Pro fall under the same category as general consumers who purchased the Apple Studio Display.
I really don't think the Vision Pro suffers because of one virtual Mac monitor, or because it doesn't have Steam games. Rather, it's that it's $3,500, visionOS is still rudimentary, and the reliance on gesture control means that you don't get...
For the vast majority of uses, yeah. There are very few situations where a 3080Ti would be useful but they exist... I have a realtime NN upscaling workflow that only needs about 3GB VRAM but loves bandwidth and fillrate which AD104 lacks compared...
RTX 3090 FE @ $699
RTX 3080Ti @ $599
Ignore if you're looking for regular gaming perf/$, this is for the niche use case weirdos doing ML stuff and ultra-high-rez image processing / rendering.
3080Ti > 4070S if memory bandwidth is a constraint...
I know someone who has seemingly been bitten by those crashes.
Worse is it seems to degrade the processor over time and they get worse and worse. Eventually it's basically unusable under any kind of load.
I think they're on their 3rd processor...
I just bought a block of Microsoft’s time to hold my hand through it. In 4 hours they identified what I had fucked up in my Intune and GPO that was preventing it from working and another 8 hours to fix it and send me on my way to make the final...

With how fast it goes it can be hard to keep up in that regard, streaming has the latest AV1, bluray is .264, UHD bluray is x265 I think.
Dolby disney versus UHD bluray will often have each their advantage over the other, streaming can always...
It's weird cause I'm sad about this and think it's a shame but then I remember I haven't bought or watched a DVD in over 10 years.
I've got a pretty sizeable library so if the apocalypse ever dies come I'll be able to watch several older movies.
