    LG 32GS95UE – OLED 31.5″ with 4K @ 240Hz and 1080p @ 480Hz Support - The death knell of LCD panels

I think most of the upcoming qd oled 32” 240hz monitors are listed as glossy, but the corresponding woleds are matte.

What Is Your Personal Favorite Video Card of All Time?

Wasn’t this a SVGA chipset rather than a card? I had a Diamond Stealth 32 which used one of these iirc.

    LG 32GS95UE – OLED 31.5″ with 4K @ 240Hz and 1080p @ 480Hz Support - The death knell of LCD panels

Interesting article from TFT but it read like a Samsung sponsored piece in some cases representing worst case scenarios. No mention of the black level issues in normal lighting conditions, lack of a polarizing layer / reflections and perceived contrast. Also I thought the new pixel structure was...

Do you like wide gamut monitors ??? And do you use a colorimeter?

Before HDR, wide gamut was the wild west in that there was no software “mode” that told the OS that the color space was expected to be a wide gamut mode (HDR now requires/expects wide gamut color spaces). As a consequence most SDR images and all SD videos are SRGB mastered and look “wrong” in a...

    LG 32GS95UE – OLED 31.5″ with 4K @ 240Hz and 1080p @ 480Hz Support - The death knell of LCD panels

I have a 32” monitor so I can see what integer scale looks like at 1080p. I play a lot of pixel art and retro games so I am pretty stoked for this mode assuming there will be a way to get retro arch to support it. May not be the same use case for everyone.

Asus ROG Swift PG34WCDM with 34" WOLED Panel, 240hz

This doesn’t have the new MLA panels, 480hz @ lower res support or new pixel structure. Sounds like that will be in the 32” woleds in 2H 2024.

Plasma is still beautiful and it's image quality rivals any modern tech!

I was bummed when plasmas died out before I could get a really high end model, and the monitors sound even better. How do they do showing non native or lower resolutions like DVD (720x480) or pre HD consoles outputting SD video?

Samsung purposely knives customer's TV to weasel out of repair

My local cable company uses a mix of contractors and employees to do repairs/ troubleshooting and installs. I had a bad experience once with guy who didn’t know what he was doing and left things in a worse state than he started and “misplaced” gear instead of returning it. Turned out to be a...

Why are IPS monitors popular? The IPS glow ruins a third of the screen along with any color advantage it may have.

The new 2024 rgbw woleds text on the 32” looked really sharp in closeups - I am waiting for an in-depth review to see what it looks like compared to an IPS. Regarding IpS glow, Inthought there was at least 1 new 2023 IPS monitor that brought back something like the old ips-tw polarizing layer to...

The 32 inch 4k IPS 144hz's...(Update - this party is started) (wait for it...)

TFTCentral said there was upcoming news on glossy woled but that’s for 2nd half. In combination with MLA and proper pixel structure I’m still interested in what the Woleds look like in the 2nd half.

    LG 32GS95UE – OLED 31.5″ with 4K @ 240Hz and 1080p @ 480Hz Support - The death knell of LCD panels

QD oled has no polarizing layer so without any AG it has both reflectiions and raised black levels. I dislike grainy matte AG so I hope the previews / impressions from CES where people spoke positively about upcoming next gen qd oled AG pans out. Still has the raised blacks issue in a bright...

    42" OLED MASTER THREAD

There were over 30 OLED monitor models shown at CES this week including ones with dolby vision. The 32” models with panels from both samsung (panels already available ) and LG (2nd half) are both interesting. Several models have improved pixel structure like RGWB for woled which is much closer...
