Cool! How did you mount the 120mm bracket to the case? Have always wanted to try something like this in the A4... this bracket and the 400w HDPLEX, and your effort make it seem like it can be a reality!
Cool, thanks for the advice! I am using the screw holes, and they are attaching. Are you suggesting to bend the flaps at the bottom of the panels where the screw mounts are?
Hi all! I have an much loved A4-SFX v1 that is experiencing some panel sag toward the front end of the case on both sides. Any suggestions for how to fix before I take a hammer to the case?
Not sure if this has been mentioned before, but has anyone attempted or thought through modifying an A4-SFX v1 with slits in the bottom of the case to take an AIO cooler like the v2?
If you can get your hands on it, I highly recommend the Nexus Low-7000 R2 coupled with the Thermalright Narrow ILM bracket to use a Xeon E5 in the A4. I used the T318+TY-100 fan for about a year with a Xeon E5 V3 and found the temperatures too high to be comfortable. I think the TY-100 will...
Nice work getting this built!! I just received my A4 as well and was really tempted to try this idea, but having waited nearly 1.5 years I decided that I could wait a little longer and see what was around the corner with Vega-- I'm hoping that AMD produces an update to the R9 Nano.
Since you...
Thermalright's Narrow ILM adapter works with this cooler and mounts to either Intel Narrow 2011 socket or AMD's AM3 socket. Do we know how AM4 compares to AM3? If the coolers are compatible this will work with that as well.
I mounted it without taking photos, but you can see the area I cut out of the narrow ILM bracket under the copper heat pipes on the right side of the image above. Here's a picture of where to make the cuts (drawn in red)
For those planning X99 builds in the A4, I wanted to follow up on dondan's comment that the Nexus LOW-7000 provides the best cooling performance and how to attach it to the Asrock X99 ITX board. I've used the dynatron t318 for over a year and have found the cooling performance to be subpar, Dan...
Wow! Just curious, what radiator and pump are you using for this? What kindof temps are you getting? That looks like a lot of hardware on a single 120mm radiator, if that's what you're using!
