This right here. Microcenter really has a "no questions asked" type of return policy if you are within the return window. I have never had an issue. Also, why I buy all my monitors there... I have on several instances returned monitors more...
They seem to take just about anything back within 30 days. At least within reason I'd assume. They'll ask you why for the sake of knowing if they can resell it, but I don't think they care beyond that. I've returned 4-5 things over the years...
Yeah, probably because they do not want a rush of people, but at the same time, I'm not going to go unless I KNOW I get can the product. Funny story, back when I got my 3090 there you could view the source of the webpage and find the quantity in...
By that same token, one could argue the GeForce 3 was more important because it introduced programmable shaders. GeForce 256 with its fixed function T&L would seem like a dinosaur in comparison.
Then one could argue that the Tesla line was more...
Skipped 7000 series as I didn't want to pay the exorbitant cost for a AM5 mobo and DDR5 pricing. I'm a 5950x that's still doing everything for me in my 3D workflow. Glad I waited, will definitely be going for a 7950 or X3D variant of it upon...
They started here in Columbus, Ohio... and I can confirm the store is almost always packed :) They price match online pricing too from Amazon or Newegg, it's so nice. I give them all my PC business unless they simply don't have what I need.
Their prices are pretty much the same as Amazon, although I like that I can get something today. If I don't like it and want a refund, I can also take care of that right then, too. No dealing with shipping things back and hoping/waiting. Ditto...
My personal favorite?
The nVIDIA GeForce 8800 GT 512MB. It was the first GPU that allowed me to turn everything to max settings in the shader model 3 era. And it was the last enthusiast grade single-slot GPU from nVIDIA.
Apologies if I've...
Interestingly, I have my Voodoo 3 3000 paried with a AMD Athlon XP2800+ and it performs worlds better than it did back when I actually used it on a Pentium II & III back in the day. It's an unrealistic CPU to use with it, but absolutely free's...
I mean it comes down to semantics, really. I would consider the Voodoo series to be gaming GPUs, they are a unit that processes graphics, and I used them for games.
Next thing you know we'll have a click-baity article remembering AMD's first "APU" because while previous CPUs had integrated graphics, AMD had the first Accelerated Processing Unit.
Heat maybe? I don't know, I would think vcache on both would be ideal and no need for software solutions past wanting to stay on a single CCD. Not sure how 7000 series does with cross CCD comms in general in games, but when I went with an all...
I have my 2 geforce 256's, a SDR and DDR model. Neither seemed that great at the time, and were not supported for very long. Now my geforce 2's got used a lot, and I have them in several of my retro systems. Much better and a more useful card.
If you read the article, it's really just highlighting it being the first card for gaming having hardware T&L vs. software (and thus the CPU). I think most of us "old time" gamers had a Voodoo card at some point before nvidia took off. The...
