Only since they announced Win8 and the SCo-Linux debacles, have I predicted that 1) Windows would go pay-per-view Windows-as-a-service, and 2) they would roll Linux into the OS, possibly turning the OS into a version of Linux. Seems like it's gonna come true. Imagine that.

And there's the rub: I spend alot of time on highways in rural areas with an absolute need for phone & data connectivity. AT&T/Verizon may be a bunch of shitbags to deal with, but they're the only games with significant coverage across the US.

Far more secure than that virus masking itself as an OS...

I have to agree with this. My last attempt to run Linux was a fail because I couldn't get my favorite games to run under it. :-(

When they break down your door and arrest you for saying something "wrong"/owning some digital media someone decides you can't own anymore/having data on your drive some malware out there that implicates you in a crime, you just might rethink that position.

So you enjoy all your private information sold 'round the world by Microsoft, et al. Good to know.
