Can someone tell me where this setting is in the Asus bios that throttles the CPU once it hits a preset temp? Is that setting a AMD thing because i have never seen it on my Intel builds.
My issues where with newly released AMD GPU's. I never have any issues with intel stuff on release day.
But sometime has passed since the 3900x has came out.
It's not for my day job as i do photography and web sites on the side. I have already bought a rtx 2080 super for gaming just not sure about the CPU. I would like to get PCI gen 4 since it will be another 5 years or so before i do another upgrade.
I always buy Intel but AMD is the new CPU king. My issue with AMD is how stable is there stuff?
In the past i bought AMD GPU's but always had driver issues and i have read a few issues with there new Ryzen 3 bios over volting.
I want to build a gaming and work PC photography, H265 encoding...
I have a ASUS TUF Z390M-Pro and using a intel i7 8700 so i can't OC. The CPU is air cooled and runs around 134F, and i have 16GB of ram.
When i open up a web page using chrome or any other browser the case fans will spin up for a few sec then spin back down. I have fan expert installed and have...
Switched out the MB to a Asus have had zero issues since. That other MB was my first gigabyte and my last.
I bought it because it was $79 and the Asus was $169.
I ran memtest it found 0 errors in 48 of 48 test took almost 4 hours to run! I can try to boost the voltage by .1 if the MB will let me not sure it supports any thing since it was a cheap board (Gigabyte b360m d3h)
I'm surprised no one has thought it could be the MB.
I have ran Prime95 for a few hours RAM and CPU test, bios is using the newest bios.
RAM is CORSAIR Vengeance 8x2
DDR4 2666 (PC4 21300)
Timing 16-18-18-35
CAS Latency 16
Voltage 1.2V
It took a week and a half for it to lock up again!
I used a different PSU, reset the RAM new install of windows.
I may just buy a new MB and try again!
BTW why does asus not have any micro atx boards with a display port? They do but gaming boards.
