I guess it probably depends on what CPU you want to power and OC. You didn't mention it and i guest a lowered power variant.
But as kirbyrj said maybe looking into AM5 isn't a bad option, especially when you're looking for more powerful versions of AM4.
Probably something like this DSH3:

Have one with the better heatsinks (can't remember the exact name) and it does the job with an APU installed on it and PBO activated.
Intel's comments are like from someone who doesn't understand what their commenting on about but they feel that they have to say something to stay relevant...
I think they should focus more on innovation and bringing better products than commenting on their direct competitors.
Not that many of us would run into this issue this time around considering the steep entry price, but this could have consequences, for all OC users, on long term if this is implemented in cheaper products/ all.
Safeish... There are still stutters and low utilization areas on both CPU and GPU, but that depends on how sensitive you are to them and Domingo said it can depend on your hardware as well. In some cases it can be alienated with more powerful hardware, but that is not guaranteed to give you a...
Auch, sorry to hear that. Maybe EVGA can give you another model, FTW for instance.
At somepoint i'd also consider selling it and getting something else if you have the budget.
Indeed however the amount of watts being dissipated into the room as heat are more. (GTX 480 ~ 250W ) So if someone was sweating with a 480, he will definitely sweat more with a 4090, for instance, in the same room.
Also cases have come a long way since then and are better ventilated.
Custom air or WC was needed for them. Once you had that they were a pleasure to game on. Loved the first one so much, i went ahead and bought another one.
And while yes the GTX 480 was hot, i find it funny that now we're mostly ok with 350W++ monsters be it on the CPU or GPU side .
Have a related question here, EVGA was pretty relaxed regarding watercooling.
Is there any other company that lets you dismantle the cooler and slap on a watercooling block? Be it for Nvidia or AMD?
Hmm imagine EVGA having a piece of the pie in a 80% GPU market share of Nvidia. And then imagine them as a newcomer for AMD/ Intel in the remaining ~20% marketshare.
No matter how we dice it it's still going to be lower income by some order of magnitude.
Plus on how thinks are working out, it's...
Pretty good cards and unbelievable value for money. Remember that they prompted Nvidia to give out money back to the people.
Good times!
