Just wanted to follow up on this as there are multiple dead end threads across a number of forums on this topic. The CPU was the issue. There were no bent pins or any visible damage, but I received my RMA from AMD today and it works wonderfully. Both ASUS and AMD were great to work with for the...
Interesting development. The B550 board I purchased for testing has 1 x16 PCI-E and 1 x8. The Strix X570 had 3 x16. When I plug my 3070 into the x8 slot on the B550, it works "normally". Drivers install, I can play games just fine and get decent frames. However, it's locked to x4 3.0 and...
Thanks for the reply! I've installed both chipset drivers for the x570 and b550 board from the manufacturer. I also installed them from a USB to a fresh windows install that didn't have internet access. Still the same problem.
This has been a SAGA so far, with some very perplexing symptoms and I am hoping to get some fresh eyes on it.

I don't think there is any hope of this returning to normal in 2021 and the spoken projections from companies regarding normalcy this year are optimistic. In fact, I think these companies are going to take advantage of the extended increased price era we're in to readjust what "normal" is even...
Even if you find a 3070 now it's minimum $700 after tax...
I'm just happy I got mine for $530 before the madness. Even that was excessive for me as the last card I paid that much for was my 1070 ti during the last crypto craziness and I HAD to replace my 960 which was terrible. I just wish I...
Walked into Microcenter to get a 10600k to tide me over for awhile. Saw a stack of 5600x/5950x at the back desk and bought a 5600x instead. After having intel for the last 13 years out of what has felt like necessity it's good to be back on the wonderful and slightly weird side of the CPU war.
