Looking for a gaming chair.

I can recommend SecretLab too. But I bought my chair a while ago. So I don't know about availability right now. But by ordering they said delivery will be in around 4 weeks and I got the chair after 2 weeks already. So maybe it is the same now

Right now, on their website the company is showing there are ordering delays.

Hey Dan_D , I received my SecretLab Omega this week. I'm definitely still in the honeymoon phase right now, but decided to post anyway because of their excellent customer service.

The chair feels great. I got the softweave fabric upholstry (never liked leather - doesn't breathe enough for me) and it's a real treat compared to my old (but decent) run-of-the-mill office chair.

Mine arrived with a busted right armrest, unfortunately. Looks like the damage might have happened during packing, because the packaging itself was so sturdy I don't see how it could have happened in shipping.

I contacted SecretLab that day (Tuesday night) and asked if they could send me a new one. They responded that night and said they would, and to watch my e-mail for shipment notification. I never got the notification e-mail - I DID get the right armrest today, however, about four days after contacting them. So... in my mind, that kinda makes them the best.

The chair is fantastic. Looking forward to enjoying it for many years.

From what I can tell the SecretLab and nobleChair units are the same exact chair under different brand names.

I'm almost certain your right. After seeing pictures of yours and after getting my Secret Lab Titan, I'm farily certain they are. My review of the Secret Lab Titan should be up fairly soon as well.

I am 6'1 240lbs i sit in a chair 15hrs a day i pretty much buy a new staples chair ever 3 months if you were to buy a chair right now in the US what would you buy? TY so much for the input.

I have had a LOT of office and gaming chairs through here in the last few years. I decided on a nobleChair Hero and have been using it for a couple of years. As above, I think the SecretLabs and nobleChair products are the "same" chairs. My old Hero video below. :) It is NOT a soft cushy chair, very firm, and a feel that I have always equated to a german sports car seat. I also kept an AKRacing chair that I liked as well here in the office.

I actually use the AKRacing head pillow on my nobleChair.

I bought THIS earlier this year and have been happy with it. Its sturdy and wide. They also make a version with the bottom being mesh, but I found this one to be more comfortable. I did get to test drive it at a local Jordan's furniture though.

About 10 days ago I bought the same chair and it has quickly developed something odd, the backrest moves with little pressure by about 3/4", this 5-sec video shows the backrest rocking back and forth by applying very little pressure backward from the headrest.

Does your Noblechairs Hero exhibit the same thing? It's very annoying as every time I lean back I feel like I will fall backward lol.
I contacted Noblechairs but have yet to hear back and wonder if it's normal and if not I may just send it back before I can't anymore.. Not sure how the little lady at the UPS office will like me when I return such a big and heavy box!

Thanks so much!

No, not at all. Seems to me that it is not attached properly. Did you torque down the fasteners there too little? Too much, and strip those out? Mine is a couple of years old and still solid as a rock. I would check those four fasteners at the attachment point, and if all are tight, maybe shoot a video with the side covers removed.

Thanks for the prompt reply!
I did check if everything was screwed properly and indeed it is.
It is somewhat hard to video record the issue but the problems comes from the mechanism.

Towards the end of this short video you will see the gear like piece rocking back and forth.

I would sent that over to their customer service folks and show them that video of it exposed. Mine does not do that at all. Let us know what happens please.

Okay reporting back.

Noblechairs’ support was quick to reply which is very nice but their only advice was to ask me to make sure the chair is properly screwed, but as you know this is a fairly simple chair to assemble.
Also, the issue comes from a part I didn’t have to assemble, and if I disassemble this part and try to fix the issue myself and can’t, I may not be able to get a refund.

I provided support a few videos of the problem and they do not know what the problem is, they can’t possibly ship any parts to fix the issue and doubt they have any in America so I have returned the chair, cancel the Epic version from Amazon for my wife and see what else is available. I love shopping PC parts but not furniture and because of the pandemic, many are working from home and office chairs are scarce at the moment.

I must have been unlucky, but there were also some other issues with this chair.
-Quite a few loose stitches on the seat and the back of the chair. Some endpoints of the stitches on the seat are not tied at all and are now loose and out of their “holes". My wife thought she could fix the issue, if I could get the backrest problem sorted out she would have attempted to fix this.
-A fair share of noisy creaks and the chair is only about a week old. Frankly, my previous old chair wasn't as noisy and the main reason why I wanted to replace it was because of the complains I received while video-conferencing. There are no creaks when I pivot, but if I lean either sideways, put my weight (180lbs) forward or backward there is a loud creaky noise.
And of course this annoying reclining backrest from the video above…

So it looked very nice, but at this price, I expected a stress-free transaction. :(

Well dang that sucks! I need to get something by the end of the week. An im still undecided i wish there was a place i could go sit in some different brands, as i heard the herman miller is great but at the price im to poor to just had out the money an hope for the best. I hope you get your chair sorted atleast on the positive side you got a quick response an that should mean alot in these times where most companies are so hammered nothing is getting done.

I haven't checked and it depends where you live but there might be some quality used office chair available that fits your budget.

I have seen people reporting online that due to companies downsizing their office space they might have some chairs for sale and there is a business of buyer/reseller that buys in bulk and then resale them for cheap.
Some have claimed they could find used Herman Miller for the price of the cheapest of the gaming chair (+/-$200)

I didn't have the time to check locally so I went with Amazon and it didn't work out, wishing you better luck & stay safe!

Actually, I'm looking for a chair recommendation of any kind really. I am interested in gaming chairs as I've sat in a few that were fairly comfortable. I would prefer to keep the price to around $600 max, but I can flex that if need be. I've had the Herman Miller Aeron and the Ergo Human ME7ERG. I've killed about half a dozen cheap Office Max style chairs over the years so I am not interested in more of those. The ME7ERG I liked a lot, but mine is falling apart. I've had it for about eight years now. The companies warranty support isn't for shit either.

I would like something that at least has some conservative color options, no RGB (as that's evidently a thing in chairs now) and something with good casters on it. I have lower back issues and sit in my chair for periods of time that no human should subject themselves to, but I have to pay those bills. I have no requirement for mesh and frankly, I don't like how it wears over time. My ME7ERG is creating pressure points now that it's starting to sag and its quite unpleasant now. Something high quality with good durability is a must. I am fairly large at 6' 230lbs. Super narrow chairs like that first one that Corsair did are right out given that they are horribly uncomfortable.

Something with a head rest, be it adjustable or not is a must. I hated not having one on the Herman Miller.

I like my secretlabs chair.

Only tweak I did was add: https://smile.amazon.com/STEALTHO-Replacement-Office-Caster-Wheels/dp/B07KSF11X6?sa-no-redirect=1

They make a world of difference, especially on hardwood floors and not needing chair mats.
Did the same with my noblechair Hero. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01CTIG4GE/

Do you have the Titan? Nothing negative to report? I know they share a lot with the Noblechairs and I liked that chair a lot except the 3 issues I reported, I might be tempted to go this route...

I have the D.VA Titan. Not really anything negative about it other than when i got it it had a period where it took me a bit to get used to it being a bit more firm than the shitty chairs I had been using until now.

I felt the same way initially.

I have been meaning to follow up on this. I decided to take the plunge and got the Titan Softweave around two weeks ago. It took me a while to finally buy it as I was worried about the stiffness. Some of your positive comments played a part in the convincing. As mentioned previously, at 5’8, 160lbs, I was afraid that long days of work/leisure would not be comfortable enough. After a couple of days of sitting in it I can say that my worries were unfounded.

So yes, like you all mentioned, the chair is very firm but it’s also very supportive. For many years now I’ve been having lower back pain from long and not so long sitting sessions. So far, with the Titan, that pain is gone. I felt the difference from the first day of using it. So, while it may not initially feel as comfortable as a “plush” chair, it does force you in the right sitting position and keeps your body rested. And that’s what matters in the end. Note that I’ve been using a footrest that’s about the same height as the chair; that may play into the comfort of it, especially for somebody of my height.

Update from up North!

I ended up returning the Noblechairs and ordered an in-stock Ash Titan. No way I would have waited for another variant of that chair to be delivered, and it is actually not bad looking and comfortable.

Quick story; I am busy working on some projects that require me to spend about 18h a day on PC. I needed a new chair quickly because of growing back pain and was worried about getting another defective product, but it looks like this one is a keeper!

I find the Titan softer than the Hero, and after assembling/dissembling these chairs back to back, I firmly believe they outsourced both frames to the same supplier. I wish I could have mixed a little of both to build the better chair, but after giving an “online look” to the new Razer Iskur, it seems like Razer had a similar idea with a novel approach.

Hero + Omega =Iskur?

I wouldn’t be surprised if the Iskur is also outsourced to the same supplier, there are too many similarities.

i just got my herman miller logitech emoby chair after i ordered it a month ago. OMG i love this thing (still honey moon phast). so much comfortable than my dx racer that is 5-6 years old. Crazy chairs can cost this much money. But with how much i will be working from home now i though i would invest in a good quality chair. Ill report back in a year or so after the honey moon phase.

Please feel free to report back earlier than in 12 months, this chair seems like the "end game" !

Its definitely a chair that makes you sit in the correct position. the ass cushion is so comfy great lumbar support. its chair hard to lounge in if that makes sense but that doesn't mean its bad. What i mean is i cant cross my legs or put them underneath each other like i could in my dx racer. So far working form home the last week this chair has made that experience so much more enjoyable. i know the ass cushion in my dx racer was worn out but this thing is comfortable.

I've had an Ergohuman with the mesh seat since 2009. I think it's the same model as yours (Dan_D's). I just replaced the seat bottom section and cylinder. The cylinder was leaking a bit and the back tilt adjustment wasn't working quite right. The tab for parts was about $220. The back, arms, base and wheels are still in great shape so it was a highly cost effective repair. If the replacement seat lasts as long as the original I bet I'll get another 10 years out of it. The down side is it took them like 2 months to ship. I got the parts here: https://ergohuman.com/ergohuman-chair/

If yours is in similar condition I recommend ordering a cylinder along with the seat bottom if you decide to fix it. That way you don't have to bother trying to get the cylinder out of the seat. The cylinder will go eventually; they always do. The removal procedure is basically "turn it upside down, spray WD-40 on it, wait 30 minutes, then crank on it with a pipe wrench until you get it to move." Getting the cylinder out of the base is pretty much the same, except it involves a hammer instead of a wrench. I recommend a drilling hammer (aka mini-sledge) unless you happen to have a full sized sledge hammer and trust your aim. There's also a good chance you'll break the cylinder trying to get it out of the base. I tried to protect it by putting a 2x4 on it and hitting the 2x4. Ended up breaking the 2x4, then the cylinder.

Filter after buying my Ergohuman a bit over 10 years ago I developed a habit of Googling whatever chair was standard issue at work over my last few jobs. Typical new price so far is $800. That kind of surprises me because a couple of my employers were cheap bastards with equipment, yet they still bought proper chairs. On of the cheap bastards did buy a bunch of refurbs, but they were still good chairs.

yeah my chair at work is around $800 and i loved it. i was honestly going to order the same one for my home. but for years i been reading about the herman miller chairs. i got a bonus at work and decided to splurge on this logitech one. is it overpriced $1500 to my $800 work chair. i dont know probably. Am i disappointed with it. Hell no. the more i sit in this thing the more i love it.

I had a Herman Miller Aeron at a previous job and definitely liked it. The one downside to the Aeron is no headrest, though I find I use the one on my Ergohuman a lot less than I used to. Then of course some people don't like mesh, but I'm a big fan of mesh. The ones we have at the office at my current job are pretty good, but I like my chair and the Aeron better... maybe because the ones at work have cloth seats and backs. I was looking at buying an Aeron when I realized I could fix the chair I already had for $220.

yeah i could care less for a headrest

Gamers Nexus: Don't Buy a "Gaming Chair" - Office Chair vs. Gaming Chair Round-Up & Review

I agree. Gaming chair are garbage and pure marketing. I have never sat in one that felt comfortable. I rather get one of those $150 staples chairs then any of the $500+ "gaming" chairs.

I like my Gaming chair so much I don't want to wear it out. So I use my crappy Office Max serta chair.
My gaming chair keeps me really locked in to the point where my eyes strain while playing videogames.
Just a harder seat same thing I found at work we have hard plastic seats at work while the Sofa is where it's at which relaxes all your muscles.
I want someday to try a X-Chair but they are a rip off.

I have to wonder if Shit-On-Everything Steve Burke is only including the $150 Amazon chairs in that video.

I've had a few months with my Secretlab Omega, and am still 100% happy with it, almost to the point that I'm considering buying a second one to haul to my office. It is so much more comfortable than any run-of-the-mill office chair. It's firm enough to be supportive, and soft enough to not cause any discomfort. I can literally sleep in the thing in full recline.

Comfort is subjective to a degree, I'm certain. I just can't correlate Steve's slander with my chair.

His biggest issue with gaming chairs are that they so many companies are jumping on. The chairs are overpriced and basically all sourced from the same chinese company. It doesn't matter if it is a cheap $100 Homall or and of the $500+ ones. They just change the branding on them. The bottom cushion on them always chaffe my outer thighs after an hour of sitting on them. I think a lot of it is a placebo effect. They spend so much money on a tacky chair so it must be comfortable. They really did we pushing those chairs on stream to make it seem like it is required to have a good gaming session.

I won't claim that isn't a problem in the market overall, I just don't see it in my chair. I'm very well acquainted with the "I spent money so it has to be good or else I did the dumb" phenomenon. I've done it before, and I'm self-aware enough to recognize it - that's not what's happening here. I legitimately prefer this chair to any office chair I've ever sat in.

I have sat in the $100 gAmEr ChAiRs that Steve is railing against in his video, and yes, I agree. They feel like planks. They remind me of the nasty "racing seats" you see in all-show no-go rice burners.

My only point of contention with Steve's video is his blanket statements. Comfort is as subjective, and as unique to each individual as their own body. To my 5'9", 165lb self with lower back problems, the Omega is fantastic.
