I'm still waiting for my SN850 drive and Liquid Freezer II 420, but I will be busy all this week anyway. This is the answer. Sent back my X570 Aorus Master today.

Welcome to the (ever growing) club! You can sign this if you'd like https://secure.avaaz.org/community_...rus_master_poweron_problem&utm_term=kkKGrb+enwell after about 2 months of working fairly well, this just happened to me. going to try the battery removal, but ya if this is a recurring thing like is suggested here i will look to buy another board.
edit: resetting the battery worked, lol gigabyte
hi there fellow simracer! :> I also race with a 3900x and a 2080super but at 4k, welcome aboard and good luck!Hi all thanks for the thread
I brought X570 PRO WIFI with 3900X, Gigabyte RTX 2080 Gaming OC, G.Skill 3600 C14 , Phanteks Revolt Pro 1000watt and Evolv X , Krakken X72
worked 100% till months later refused to boot one morning ..never found this thread and like others never thought of removing Battery ( never too old to learn ) Funny thing I remember clearly I got it too boot twice without removing GPU or Battery but
both times refused to restart a second time
So that board went back to shop and brought X570 MASTER with 5600X + existing parts very happy with everything
This morning after 2 weeks new build did same thing but this time I found this thread and quickly tried the remove battery fix
Booted it without GPU in and started fine, happily shutdown, installed RTX2080 ....no boot again ....oh
Retried a number of times always booted but when I install GPU no go
I can't see how it is actual GPU I online offline racing sims at 1440p at mostly full settings and both towers performed above expectations, no lag, stutter or artifacts CPU 50-60 GPU 70-80 never a issue just both one morning refused to start
So my situation is a little different never tested Pro Wifi ( still at shop) and Master won't start with my GPU ( no other GPU to try , everyday tower is B450 Pro Wifi with AMD 3200G never missed a beat )
So I gave shop link to this thread and wait for outcome on both M/B's
I had same as others G.Skill memory stayed default lighting on both M/B and the restart button was red onbothMaster M/B
I have it disabled but no effect on the issue, settings in the bios won’t help either. I am now on bios F30j...... so far no other issues.... time wil tell if this is the remedyOut of curiosity, has anyone tried disabling windows fast startup?

I've disabled it today, highly doubt it would affect the cold boot issue though.
I got a gigabyte x570 aorus elite in a bundle with a 5800x. I was planning on returning the motherboard and getting something else but after watching buildzoids's video on the board decided it met my needs. Now I'm here reading through this thread and wondering if I should return it after all. Have till Jan 31st but would hate to setup a custom water-cooling loop only to have to tear it down to swap out the board.
Any thoughts?
Hello. I have a B550 Vision D with the same issues as the x570 Aorus Master. I'm not saying that you have to return that motherboard, but still is something to think about it.I got a gigabyte x570 aorus elite in a bundle with a 5800x. F31j works fine for me too (rev. 1.0) and still available in the NetherlandsF31j working fine on my master 1.1 also the F31j is still available on the UK site.
Has anyone experienced these issues on a B550 Aorus Pro AC?
Does the issue still happen with CPU C-states disabled? And/or with ErP disabled?
I see many people saying removing and reinstalling the CMOS battery fixes it. Does it happen again after doing that? After how much time? How often does this happen in general?
Some people seem to think the CMOS battery is being drained but if that was the case then removing and adding the same battery back shouldn't have fixed it, no? It would require changing the battery in that case.
I have had the issue twice with a B550 Aorus Pro, (works perfectly using sleep though), haven't try last BIOS yet. Thanks for the answer. I'll risk it by opening my still unopened B550 Auros Pro box then since I can't find similar reports for this one (other than people trying to run Zen 3 without updating their firmware).
Getting back to the original topic, it's interesting that resetting CMOS using the reset button doesn't fix it but removing the battery does. Both reset CMOS but the only difference I could think of is that removing the battery does a "deeper" reset, some settings survive the "reset CMOS" button (but obviously nothing can survive removing power and battery, unless it's NVRAM). I wonder if memory training parameters are such settings that persist across "Reset CMOS" and if then, running memory at JEDEC (2133. CL15) settings makes the issue go away.
I have the x570 Aorus Pro wifi and i have this issue as well. This problem seems to be specific to the X570 Aorus Master. Other boards may have issues that resemble it, but I haven't seen it as widespread and consistently as with the Master. In any case, I think it would be best if we kept problems of other boards out of this topic, so as not to confuse things.
About the battery: the consensus in this topic is that the CMOS battery itself is not the cause, and that it's not being drained. People have tested with other batteries, and checked the voltage. The battery itself is a red herring, it's just that removing it fixes whatever is the cause. Temporarily anyway, because it does reoccur after some time. I've had it three times in four months,
ErP on or off has no effect, in fact nobody has found any bios setting that permanently fixes it, and many have been tried.
Thanks! You mean that it doesn't boot only if you shutdown (S5 power state) previously but if you use sleep then it does wake up?I have had the issue twice with a B550 Aorus Pro, (works perfectly using sleep though), haven't try last BIOS yet.
Only one with a passive chipset- dark hero. Thanks! You mean that it doesn't boot only if you shutdown (S5 power state) previously but if you use sleep then it does wake up?
I may have to return the B550 Auros Pro AC then and/or wait for the new AX or switch to another brand. The problem is there aren't many other choices for AM4 boards with my requirements (support Ryzen 5000, large number of USB, min 6 SATA, have great VRM, have passively cooled chipset and under $200).
Yes, there were two mornings it played dead on me after using shutdown on Linux the night before. Using sleep, always wakes up, 0 problems. Thanks! You mean that it doesn't boot only if you shutdown (S5 power state) previously but if you use sleep then it does wake up?

Simple but shitty having to replace a $350 MB with a $450 MB lol.
Forgot we were talking about those in the post I quoted. Was just thinking x570. The Xtreme is an oddball too - and IIRC, out of production now?And all B550 boards, and the Aorus X570 Xtreme.
Inventory in the US is also hard to come by. There was a quick drop via Newegg and that was it.By the way, I'm having a hard time finding Dark Hero, it's not listed anywhere in UK or EU popular sites (except alternate which ahs it listed as unavailable)
Yah, this part is the worse. I was trying to find similar boards but the X570 AM (on paper) is great. Not sure if I wanted to find a Dark Hero in the wild since inventory for that seems to suck. There's the non hero but I would need the wifi which brings the price closer to the $400 for the Dark Hero.Simple but shitty having to replace a $350 MB with a $450 MB lol.
It seems quite difficult to find even when I ordered it as it released. Was fortunate Computer Alliance happened to list a whopping 3 of them while I was browsing for one.By the way, I'm having a hard time finding Dark Hero, it's not listed anywhere in UK or EU popular sites (except alternate which ahs it listed as unavailable)
Has this bug ever happened to anyone recently.....say within the last month?
