PNY RTX 3070 / 3090 In-Stock @ CDW (Warning, overpriced)

That's a pretty steep markup. I paid $1599 for my PNY RTX 3090 on launch day. It's been a great card, just don't think it's worth what the premium models are asking like the EVGA FTW3 or ASUS Strix cards.

Agreed - that's easily a $200+ scalp. This card also doesn't compete with the more premium models like Strix @ $1799 that sports a higher boost clock and better thermals. Still, I'm sure they'll get snapped up as the "scalp" here isn't extremely out of whack given the demand for 3090's right now...

Yeah, here in the bay, people can't sell their 3090's anymore.

They would have to price it under asking price.

I got one too. Have you figured out a way to control the rgb led on it?

These have been up all day. I ordered a 3090 cause I am tired of waiting, and cancelled my provantage pre order. Now I wonder if this is gonna get cancelled.

Ive installed it , but for the life of me can't figure out where it's at on the app!
You should see "LED CONTROL" right under the :GPU TEMP: on the left side.

Received confirmation of my order, and it is noted that the 3070 is backordered. 8-10 weeks possible before ship.

However, they charged me? Hopefully it is a temporary hold.

At that price you might be better off buying from scalpers. I saw an $1800 Gigabyte 3090 newly listed on Ebay just the other night for sale, 2 day shipping. If you keep a close eye on the newly listed items, you might get lucky. Some people are just trying to get their guaranteed scalpers cut without worrying about getting priced out from underneath and then stuck with Ebay fees.

I mean, for $100-$200, it might be worth it. It could still be months before these cards are readily available...and not to get TOO dramatic about it but 3 months is literally a nice little chunk of your life. Sure, it goes by quick, but the again so does life; life is pretty short. It's actually hard for me to fathom that I have been waiting for this card long before it was announced purely on the basis of needing HDMI 2.1 to get 4k 120hz HDR, and then I was there at launch 6AM, and here I am now after finally having ordered it.

Admittedly, it feels a bit sketchy on CDW's behalf to be doing this. Not to derail things but it definitely plays into MLID's narrative, as much as people want to quibble over the details about it.

CDW has always been a rip off, i get a company discount and the price is still higher than everywhere else.

Well to be fair, everything sold on CDW has a huge markup
Not the stuff I buy--I'm usually buying deals no one else can touch. :D

You have to keep in mind that CDW is a b2b company and could give a rats ass about gamers. They also are a real, legit, authorized distributor for everything they sell, so if their distributor (probably ingram micro) is marked up, then so are they. I'm sure there's a bit of an adjustment for supply and demand though as anyone that's sold good knows you sell at the price the market will bear, not at msrp. Generally this means that stuff is below msrp, but in certain situations it can be higher. The cuts you get from being on the bleeding edge...

I've generally found that all the truly legit distributors will be higher--but there's also zero chance of getting scammed with a fake since these goods come through authorized channels. It's like there's some insurance included for authenticity.

That's expected. You will either get a very late shipment or a refund out of the blue. It's all over SD and Reddit about CDW's business practices.

I emailed to ask, told my 3090 wasn't shipping until 12/16. Emailed back a minute later to cancel my order. 10 minutes later I had pre-shipment information. Just shipped out today. Not very excited about the brand or price, but I have a new case and watercooling setup waiting to move my 9900k into with a 3090. And no time to refresh best buy and newegg.

One thing you guys might not be thinking about is that some credit cards have price protection factors where they'll cover up to $X if the price changes on the item within Y number of days. You could purchase this item and file the claim for part of the difference. I know Chase cancelled this a couple years ago because of abuse, but some cards still provide it.

My personal opinion on this (Which I know no one asked for, but you're going to get anyways.) is that you'd be a dumbass to spend that amount on a new card right now. Simply wait for the AMD launch and supply to catch up with demand a bit. You're not going to miss those 5 FPS difference on your 200 Hz monitor when your eyes can't even see the difference.
