Who is buying a 3090?

Nvidia's site keeps showing up as check availability for me. At their product page it cycles from Out of Stock, to Check Availability, to Notify Me with every refresh. Roll the dice. Best Buy still shows coming soon on my desktop but the site keeps crashing in the phone app.
Same for me. Have not actually seen the option to buy yet

Hope everyone else had good luck:

The value of this card is even worse than the 2080ti, but people are still buying it. Nvidia is very successful at brain washing.

Same thing to report as most. Most sites went immediately from "Coming Soon" to "Out of Stock" or just crashed.

NowInStock never dinged.

I did manage to get a PNY card into my cart on Best Buy, but it was sold out by the time I got to checkout.

Nvidia's site, amusingly, send me to the EN-GB version when I clicked "Check Availability" and tried to sell me a card in British pounds. Maybe I should have tried to buy one.

Best Buy still shows "coming soon." Foolishly holding out hope that some BB employee is waiting for the botstorm to die down before launching the card on their site, but that's wishful thinking.

Nvidia literally posted on their site/blog that it's 10%-15%... I'm not sure why it's so hard to believe. If they felt to use a range from 10%-15%, you can pretty well assume 10% is normal, 15% is best case or there abouts. I'm sure it will somewhat depend on game as well, but 10% is probably correct.

"For 4K gaming, the GeForce RTX 3090 is about 10-15% faster on average than the GeForce RTX 3080"
https://www.nvidia.com/en-gb/geforce/news/rtx-3090-out-september-24/

That popped up AFTER I posted that. Or, I hadn't seen that until after I posted it. I'm not sure why it's so hard to believe.

Hilarious, they occasionally show up as a buy option then the cart gets stuck on checking out.:D Incredible how a multi billion dollar company can't even manage to run a website properly.

I tried to grab one at Best Buy, but they pulled it from me. Meh. Steve at GN is doing a great job of convincing me I don't need this card. Dude is hilarious and I appreciate his brutal honesty.

Honestly, if your cost conscious about your computer hardware at all then the 3090 makes no sense if all you do is play games on your PC.

Well there are advantages to corporate amex, gods own credit limit.

I almost certainly have zero. I might have two. Who fucking knows. Had 4 browsers up. Two of the sites did have new anti bot like stuff for card details which was interesting. Unfortuntaely it foiled me too as my card had just switched over to a new one so my details weren't saved anymore and the form was hard under performance anxiety.

One of the stores here is actually being a decent and reasonable company through all this, kept stuff at list price, and is generally not gouging so I'm gonna buy it from them when I get told I didn't get one. Already bought a 8TB SSD off them whilst I was waiting for stuff to go active on their site as 'reward'. Gonna buy some other shit too, like covid, pressure brings out real nature and I like to do business with good people.

Anyway, here in upside-downland it says 6 weeks wait if I didn't get one (they all switched everythhing to "pre-order" to not show stock, know a guy who works at one of 'em)

Anyway, as expected but boo. Also, Aussie dollar. Also, I really hope I can win the FE lottery tomorrow so I can get a cheaper one :D

That was a useful 30 minutes of my life (nope). Now back to work. Got to pay for this shit somehow.

Same. Ultra frustrating. Makes me wonder what the inventory levels are actually like. Just seems hard to believe that they could blast through any reasonable quantity of $1.5k cards in a second. This happens every time with Ti cards though- one would think nVidia would have more initial production available, or perhaps more realistic, have a preorder queuing system.

Had one in my cart at BB, lost it. Actually got to the place order screen on Newegg and hit place order, item removed due to lack of availability.

How to beat bots: Get a bot, or wait 2 months.

eBay currently: 100 3090's going for $3,000 USD. Enjoy.

No it doesn't happen with Ti cards, not like this. Yes they do sell out, but this is way worse than any high end launch I've seen. I managed to snag a 2080ti, 1080ti, and 980ti on launch day with little issue.

Only logical conclusion is that nVidia has no stock and rushed to get these out the door.

Microcenter shows 7 in stock at the Dallas location. I don't know how up to date that is. The store isn't open yet, so there is a chance for any of you who can make it down there.

Here at least one of the stores never marked them as in stock. They just took 'pre-orders' at the appointed time (deliberatley not as the clock struck, like 12 minutes later) and the people first in get the first ones. Apparently it's a way they're trying to foil shit. They're one of the biggest retailers here too so they had the largest allocation.

Agreed. This was my experience as well. In fact, I managed to get two GTX 980 Ti's and two GTX 1080 Ti's from NVIDIA directly at launch. The RTX 2080 Ti I picked up a bit later. I waited for the AIB's that time. I didn't have any trouble getting one though.

Truth be told I wanted an Aorus Xtreme because it matches my mobo LED's, that or a FTW or Strix. Probably will be happier waiting anyway, seems like there are still some issues to be ironed out in general. I think MOST people just want one prior to Cyberpunk release.
