Kind of wish there was a Cerberus in there for comparison as it's also an matx case. But at any rate it's a good looking case!

Gear One ("The Core"):
  • mATX + 2 dual-slot GPUs: 2 x 120mm fans
  • mATX + 1 dual-slot GPU: 2 x 120mm fans + 1 240 x 45mm radiator (EK Predator / MLC Phoenix 240)
  • mITX + 1 dual-slot GPU: 2 x 140mm fans + 1 280 x 45mm radiator (EK Predator / MLC Phoenix 280)
  • mITX + 1 single-slot GPU: 2 x 140mm fans + 280 x 60mm radiator (EK Predator / MLC Phoenix 280 / Hardware Labs Nemesis 280GTX)
Gear Two ("The Gamer") & Gear Three ("The YouTuber"):

Gear One ("The Core"):
  • Maximum length of 315mm, maximum height of 148mm (when including the 6+2 pin)
Gear Two ("The Gamer") & Gear Three ("The YouTuber"):
  • Maximum length of 300mm, maximum height of 163mm (when including the 6+2 pin)
 
Seems like Intel is readying a ginormous TR4-like socket for their 28-core CPU, so for the first time in a while we may not have a Mini ITX option for Intel's HEDT, which may revive interest in mATX for SFF.
You mean this one? A 1770W water chiller isn't going to fit into the new case, I'm afraid.

As for the said case, it seems somewhat... overengineered. But it's too early to pass judgment, methinks. What concerns me right now is that 143mm limit.

We are chatting with Noctua about 143mm and HEDT at Computex now.

The Noctua U9S can handle 140W, which is sufficient for i9-7900X.

For people using TR4 and higher wattage i9, water cooling is a better option than air cooling.

Alas. I wish there were any quality SFF(-ish) cases with support for larger tower coolers, like the NH-U12S (158mm) or the NH-U14S (165mm)...

My question is do you really need to have the taller coolers.

In essence, how much fan noise / speed are you willing to put up with in exchange for SFF and portability.


From our conversation with Noctua at Computex:
1. they will advise us on how to cool a HEDT 160W CPU (i9-7920X most likely) using the Noctua U9S with two fans.

2. SFFLAB *might collaborate with Noctua on a Threadripper 2 tower air cooler for the Mach One.


If the fan speed are acceptable tradeoff for portability, why bother with the taller coolers right.


SFF is essentially a tradeoff, it just comes down to personal preference. Obviously, our goal is to post said data so people can decided for themselves.

Also Noctua had a prototype of a slightly redesigned C14S. Perhaps a beefy top-down cooler like that may be sufficient? The C14S should out perform the U9S if I'm not mistaken.

I'm not really interested in the TR4 platform, but color me intrigued.

The philosophy behind the product is for the pro on the go. One of those requirement is flying, which effectively limits how big it can be. My goal is to create the best case I can at those limits.

SFFLAB should make a page with a 360° view of the case, methinks.

I understand, and I didn't mean to bash the Mach One. I think I just let my imagination run a bit too wild, when I saw the announcement of something resembling the legendary Necere grater.

Love how the pump / rez combo & radiator are used to transverse the CPU & GPU chambers...

Definitely makes me rethink the 280 Phoenix AIO & consider a custom loop...

I'd like to know the size of the footprint. I wish a machone's length somewhat short...
and, when I choose gear three, how can I install a capture card? 'gear three' includes bifurcation riser cable?
I always want vertical M1. serious gaming itx. so I am exciting.

The Mach One showcase build really makes it easy to custom watercool. I might have to mimic this :)
 
For mITX this isn't the most space-efficient design, but for mATX, it's about as small as you can get. I like it, 18.5L with windows and good airflow. Smallest TR build you can have probably.

Right, I’m considering either a high core count tranportable render rig with this case, or just a hobby rig that allows me to switch up configurations for fun :)
 
I'm so proud of you guys for having a suite and really professional marketing materials. Stepping up, ya'll should be getting attention from big boys from now on.
 
I love this! I'll be purchasing a black version with windowed side panels. It's similar to the phanteks shift but a much more efficient use of space and better cooling, and about 3.5 - 4 inches shorter, great work.
 
Finally a MATX case to get excited about .. clean and function forward like the NCase but with some space for some options.

Ya think with the NCase success every mfg would have a case to compete ..but they keep churning out plastic & steel monoliths . . even Lian Li added some non-aluminium cases to their line up .

No. Really. There isn't. This is a two page thread with lots of info about component compatibility and layout options but the only dimension posted is a low-precision aggregate: the volume. You said that the volume was of its bounding box, but the thread author didn't. But I was not asking you for any info either, nor was I asking you to be snotty.

@wahaha360: I would like to see a side view comparison photo of the case next to other cases in its same class. If a photo had been taken at the same time as the others photos in your post at the top of this page, please post it!

Specifically, I would like to know how deep the case would sit on a desk.

Technically, all the info IS in this thread; as it has a link to the SFFN article, which in turn has a link the the thread on the SFFN forums...

The dimensions are buried on page 8 (post #142)...!
The exterior dimensions (including feet, protrusions, etc.) are 170 x 286 x 380mm (W x D x H).

Since the motherboard & GPU I/O ports are at the top (but enclosed) of the chassis, the only real protrusions are the feet, and a slight bump from the PSU...

Maybe I was a bit overly snarky, my bad...

The dimensions are 170x286x380mm, it's basically a M1 standing up on it's face and around 46mm taller and deeper.

I will take photos of all the cases on it's side soon.
