Apparently EK released a new line of pump-top and reservoir/pump combos back in September.

I ordered the EK-XTOP Revo D5 pump top because it looked more compact than the XSPC top I have currently and has a rubber isolator built in. It's not installed yet, but I think it looks pretty slick. (camera battery dead, pictures forthcoming)

What do you think?

I have the Xres Revo pump/res combo D5 PWM... love it. Probably my favorite part of my whole system.

It's a very low rumble, maybe more of a hum. If I had a pwm pump and lowered the speed 10 to 20% you probably wouldn't even hear it, not that you can hear it from over 2ft away anyway. By comparison, the (two 140mm) fans are much louder, and even they aren't that loud (any other sounds in the room drown them out pretty quickly).
Compared to the XSPC pump-top and base, it's a little quieter--mostly just got rid of the rattling sound the acrylic made against the steel side panel, the pump was already very quiet to begin with. ;)

Awesome. I've been fighting with my D5 and it's cursed hum. Mine isn't the vario, but PWM. I have it down to like a 2 and it's relatively quiet. I have the PWM curve set in the bios, so there are times when I'm gaming this sucker ramps up and I notice it.

Been searching around for a different top for my D5 that will silence it. I was also looking at the monsoon bayres with the rubber gromments.

Nice! How's the noise level?

At 50% I can't even tell the damn thing is on unless I touch it and even then it has VERY little vibration.. this is about 2,300-2,400 rpm @ 50%. You can hear it at 100% but I ahve never needed full speed to keep my setup cool. I did isolate my bracket from the case as well which may have helped but it's really really really quiet at 50%..

Woah! That is impressive! I got the Primo on the way and I dislike the tube style res as they take up alot of valuable space. I know I'll have a hard time with my video card and a tube res. I'm also looking at the Monsoon bayres for the simple fact is it also isolates the pump vibration.

Anything you can do to isolate vibrations will be a big help with noise. I could not be happier with my setup.. I used to think there is no way water cooling could be more silent than my air cooling.. because I had heard so many different pumps and they all had a horrible noise to them.. I was wrong.. the D5 is awesome.

LOL, yeah. I remember wrapping up my MCP655 in foam rubber and using a kitchen sponge on the bottom of it to stop the vibration. At the time my case was on casters and I could hear that horrible hum in my bedroom when the pc was in my livingroom
